The Availability Notifications allow registered customers to be told when specific products come back into stock on your store.
Products which have been set to "Coming Soon" will automatically have the Add To Cart button removed from the more info page, and a "Out of Stock: Click here to be notified when available" (or similar) link will appear in its place.
If Stock Control has been set up on a store, the products will automatically switch to "Coming Soon" as soon as the stock level reaches zero, or after the store owner manually changes an item to either having a zero stock value, or toggles the availability to "Coming Soon".
Non-registered customers will be shown a message informing them that the product is out of stock, asking them to register for product availability notifications. Registered customers can simply click on the link and the software will be informed of their interest.
When products come back into stock and the store owner adjusts the stock levels, they would visit the Coming Soon management area to select which products are now available (singular items or multiple items at one time) and all customers will be notified of the availability.
It is important to note that only those customers interested in specific products will be notified - your store will not email everyone to let them know unnecessarily. Similarly, if a customer has requested to be notified when six separate products come into stock and four of those products become available on the same day, they will receive ONE email with FOUR product notifications rather then bother them with four separate emails. When the next two products become available, they will receive further notification of those two remaining products only.
